The Creative Movement program is all about moving to fun songs that children love! Below are just a few components of this kid-friendly developmental program:
Walt Disney Warm-up
Warm up to the Mickey Mousercize! Children do exercises to improve coordination, balance and flexibility—all under the instruction of Mickey, Goofy, and the gang.
Children are asked to portray a scary story through creeping and swaying, all while giving a good scare to each other!
Wheels on the Bus
Kids learn to follow the leader’s arm movements in different directions, to the tune of this old-time favorite song.
Hide and Seek
This fun game of hide and seek teaches children to stretch while maintaining good upper-body posture.
While clapping, using arm gestures, or playing a tambourine, kids follow a variety of fast and slow rhythms.
Walking on Air
A tight rope is set up across the floor; who can walk on air and keep their balance? Children walk across the rope wearing insect wings for added fun!
Opposition Walks with Stickers
Humans walk with arms swaying in opposition, but, for some strange reason, it’s not so automatic when we try to choreograph these walks! Children receive stickers to place on their hands and feet and try to walk while matching their feet with their forward-swinging arms (surprisingly, it’s quite a challenge).
This fun game lets kids explore the space around them, while teaching them to respond to visual cues from the teacher/leader.
Scarves and Ribbons
This exercise encourages individuality, creativity, and confidence. Holding a scarf, ribbon, or wand, children are encouraged to dance around the room, based on how the music makes them feel.
Children act out this popular song, all the while learning their left from their right.
With classical music as the soundtrack, children are taught to use delicate motions as they pretend to be picking stars.
Children act out the song while turning around. This helps them to build motor coordination and learn how to balance themselves.
Inspire your group by introducing them to a variety of dance genres including:
This basic classical dance program for future ballerinas focuses on rhythm, coordination, free movement, and body expression.
Children get an upbeat and fun introduction to jazz dance: learning basic dance techniques, exciting choreographies, and steps.
Kids love to make noise! We turn that noise into beautiful sounds from happy feet. Dancers learn fun tap steps while attempting to maintain musicality and rhythm.
An exciting way to learn fun hip hop moves seen in popular music videos. Children learn age-appropriate choreographies, created to teach style and rhythm.
This class brings together the graceful combination of dance technique and acrobatics. The strength of balance and aerial challenges gives Acro its breath-taking appearance.
