The Studio Danielle Dance Team is Niagara Falls Bound

As we approach the end of another great year of dance, the Terpshicore Dance Competition Finals are just two months away, and The Aylmer Avenue Dance Company (AADC), the Studio Danielle competitive dance team is well prepared and have their eyes on Diamonds and Overall High Awards.

The 80 member team was ready early this year, wowing their 450 spectators as they presented their competitive routines at their dress rehearsal at the Museum of Civilization. The previous day, at the Flying Solo competition Éliza Gélinas-Lance and Chelsea-Ray Pariseau won 2nd Overall Junior and 1st Overall Novice Junior respectively.

At the Shine Competition held the competitive team was awarded 4 diamond, 24 platinum, 18 high gold, 8 gold awards and 13 special awards. In the novice category Texas Swing was awarded 1st place Overall Munchkin Group. Zoé David-Cooper won 1st place Overall Senior. Acro duo Alien Crash won a Diamond Award, Overall Novice Duo/trio and was awarded the Overall Novice Entry of the entire competition.

In competitive level 1 Set Me Free won 2nd Overall Junior Group. Caveman’s Quest was awarded a Diamond Award, 1st Overall Large Group & Overall Jazz Performance of the competition for.

In competitive level 2 Anisa Saouab won 2nd Overall 10 & Under Soloist, Éliza Gélinas-Lance won 2nd Overall Junior Soloist and Dania Gélinas-Lance was not only awarded a Diamond Award, but also won 1st place Overall Intermediate Soloist for her solo Breathe Me. Knocking on Heavens Door won 2nd place Intermediate Small Group, and Crystal Tears and Walk This Way placed 1st & 2nd Place in the Intermediate Duets/Trios category. Underground Circus, the school’s acro production won a Diamond Award, 1st Place Production and was awarded a 200$ cash prize. In total the team was awarded 650$ in cash prizes.

The Studio Danielle competitive dancers train a minimum of 5hrs up to 20hrs per week depending on their competitive level and the school houses 3 R.A.D., 3 A.D.A.P.T., 2 C.D.T.A., 3 B.D.A.T. and 2 C.D.T.A. teachers.
