The Aylmer Avenue Dance Company

Founded in 1985, the Aylmer Avenue Danse Company is a non profit organization established to help dancers further their education and experience in the world of dance. Each year our competitors have the opportunity to expand their horizons in the art of dance by participating in special workshops, auditions, courses and competitions not only on the local scene but also at an international level. Our company normally consists of approximately 75 dancers ranging in age from five to twenty one years of age. The dance committee is comprised of parent volunteers who raise the necessary funds to cover the costs of travel and training for these dancers. The company has successfully competed across Canada and the United States and has won several international awards and prizes. Students have been fortunate enough to visit such cities as New York, Las Vegas, Detroit, Niagara Falls, Vancouver, Montreal, Florida... to mention just a few.  Several television shows have featured our dancers such as Rogers Television, Radio Canada (CBC Canada Day Performance which was televised across the country), Homegrown Café, Participaction and commercials... to name a few. We have had competitive soloists win top dancer scholarships and have had dancers invited to compete for World Cup representing Canada in 2008.  The studio has trained dancers who have been accepted into highly recognized dance schools such as the National Ballet School, Les Grands Ballet Canadien, Quinte Ballet, L’Ecole Superieure de Ballet and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.  Auditions for the Dance Company are held in the summer before each competitive season begins.  We warmly welcome new members to join our team.
